Welcome from
the Headteacher

On behalf of the staff, children and governors I would like to welcome you to Henry Hinde Junior School. I hope that our website will begin to help you see what our wonderful school can offer your family.

I feel very privileged to be introducing myself as the Principal. The positive, warm atmosphere makes Henry Hinde Junior School a very special place to learn. We have an active AIM board and PTFA and the school is supported by a wonderful community.

We are based on an extensive and extremely pleasant site which includes a large field and playground. It was purpose built as a Middle School in 1974 and has eight classrooms, a library, music room, family room, a nurture room and hall.

Your child will be placed at the heart of everything we do. Our team of staff are skilled, hardworking and committed to developing all of your child, not just their academic ability. We recognise that success for every child will be different and we celebrate this in numerous ways. Achievement and good behaviour are encouraged using a positive approach.

We know how valuable each day at school is, so we want all of our children to be happy and safe, and to access an exciting, broad curriculum. We aim to extend opportunities outside of school in sport, dance and drama, for those children who wish to take these up.

Our recent Ofsted in November 2022 stated that 'Leaders have high expectations of, and for, all pupils. Leaders want pupils to enjoy and be enthusiastic about learning. They have thought about the learning experiences pupils need to be successful in the future. As a result, pupils are positive about learning and want to learn more.'

We aim to work closely with families. You know your child best and we believe that working together is the most beneficial way. If there is anything you need to know then please get in touch and come and talk to us.

We love our school and we hope that you will too!
